The background for the Institute's interest in the SolarChill project is the knowledge platform that has been established as a result of many years of activity within refrigeration and solar energy technology.
Our experience working with natural refrigerants and developing energy efficient domestic and commercial refrigerators and freezers helped us to design the refrigeration and storage system of the SolarChill units.
DTI has been operating a solar energy test facility since 1981. The Institute has a deep going understanding on solar PV system design and evaluation. We have implemented a quality assurance scheme for manufacturers and installers, a concept that is now being exported.
Danish Technological Institute is an independent, not-for-profit institution approved by the Danish authorities to provide technological services to business and the community. We supply approved technological services such as consultancy, tests, certification, education and training to companies, organisations and society.
Danish Technological Institute is active in a wide range of international projects and collaborates with a number of international research institutions, companies and international organisations.
